Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow treatment of Oxybasis glauca as recognized by Kurtto and Uotila (2019) who say, "Because of morphological differences and geographically relatively well-delimited areas in North America and fairly easily recognizable introduced plants in Europe, Uotila (2001, 2005) accepted specific rank for the North American member of the Chenopodium glaucum group in North European floras" and therefore publish the name at species rank, Oxybasis salina, treating O. glauca as a narrower taxon than the treatment of Mosyakin (2013) or Chenopodium glaucum of FNA (2003) which both included salina as a variety of glauca. Kartesz (1999) also recognized Chenopodium glaucum and C. salinum as distinct, however, that treatment of C. glaucum appears to be more broad than C. glaucum var. glaucum of FNA (2003), as indicated by Weakley et al. (2023). Fuentes-Bazan et al. (2012) transfer Chenopodium glaucum to the genus Oxybasis.
