Taxonomic Comments
Stable; but many varieties of this have been segregated as full species. See Hale, 1979, How to Know the lichens; Thomson, 1950, Peltigeras of North Amer., Am. Midl. Nat; Thomson, 1984, American Arctic Lichens. I. Thomson and Hale question full species; Ahti and Vitikainen, 1977. Ann. Bot. Fennici 14 suggest that segregates should be accepted.
