Taxonomic Comments
Plantago hookeriana var. californica (Greene, 1894) Poe is a synonym (Hickman 1993; Kartesz 1999). Plantago californica Greene, 1885 is a different taxon (Ferris 1960; Munz 1968; Hickman 1993) - see P. bigelovii ssp. californica (Greene) Bassett (Munz 1974; Kartesz 1999).
