Taxonomic Comments
This record is for Portulaca oleracea in the broad sense, including Portulaca nicaraguensis (syn. Portulaca oleracea ssp. nicaraguensis), a species recognized as distinct by others, including Weakley and Southeastern Flora Team (2023). While the Flora of North America (2003) and Kartesz (1994) agree on the boundaries of the species, FNA does not recognize the seven infraspecific taxa which are upheld by Kartesz (1994).
