Found in dry, rocky alpine and subalpine meadows of the southern Rockies in Colorado and New Mexico. Known from 14 counties in Colorado and at least 3 in New Mexico. In Colorado, the species' habitat is extensive and well protected.
Range Extent Comments
New Mexico (Taos, San Miguel, Santa Fe Counties); Colorado - Sangre de Cristo Range and elsewhere (Weber 1987).
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

High mountain meadows 11500-13000 feet. (Martin and Hutchins 1980). Dry, rocky subalpine meadows and alpine tundra (Welsh et al. 1993).
