Stenotus lanuginosus is known from fewer than twenty occurrences in northeastern California and is rare in northeastern Nevada. It also ranges from northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington west through Idaho and into western and southcentral Montana.
Range Extent Comments
Northeastern Nevada, Elko County (Kartesz, 1988). Lassen and Modoc Counties in California (Skinner, 1997). Occurs in the Blue Mountains in southeastern Washington (St. John, 1963). Occurs in central and western Idaho (Davis, 1952). In Oregon, from northern and eastern Harney County to Washington and Montana (Peck, 1961). Occurs in western and southcentral Montana (Dorn, 1984).
