This record is for the broad treatment of Symphyotrichum cordifolium recognized in Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2006), including S. lowrieanum. In contrast, Weakley et al. (2023) and Kartesz (1999) recognize Symphyotrichum cordifolium and S. lowrieanum as distinct.
