Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 19, 2006) here narrows the concept of Taraxacum scopulorum (= T. lyratum) by restricting T. scopulorum to North America and placing T. kamtschaticum and T. sibiricum in T. alaskanum. Kartesz (1994 and 1999) include T. scopulorum, T. kamtschaticum, and T. sibiricum in T. lyratum. Kartesz (1999) also places T. alaskanum in T. phymatocarpum along with T. hyparcticum which FNA recognizes as distinct.
