Taxonomic Comments
Toxicoscordion fremontii is reinstated by Zomlefer and Judd (2002) to allow for a "revised, practical taxonomy that defines monophyletic groups and reflects phylogenetic relationships." The treatment in FNA (Schwartz 2002) recognizes the taxon as Zigadenus fremontii and does not recognize distinct varieties in Z. fremontii.
