Taxonomic Comments
Toxicoscordion micranthum is reinstated by Zomlefer and Judd (2002) to allow for a "revised, practical taxonomy that defines monophyletic groups and reflects phylogenetic relationships." The treatment in FNA (Schwartz 2002) recognizes the taxon as Zigadenus micranthus. Kartesz (1999) accepts Zigadenus fontanus as a variety of Z. micranthus, while Kartesz (1994) and FNA (vol. 26, 2002) accept them as distinct species. This record is for the strict sense of Z. micranthus, excluding Z. fontanus.
