Taxonomic Comments
While Kartesz (1994) and the Flora of North America (vol. 3, 1997) recognize the varieties Umbellularia californica var. fresnensis and Umbellularia californica var. californica, Henk van der Werff (2012) did not recognize infraspecific taxa in the Jepson Flora Project.
