Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the broad treatment of Valeriana dioica that includes V. dioica var. sylvatica as recognized in Kartesz (1994, 1999). Other references recognize var. sylvatica as a distinct species, V. septentrionalis, and following that treatment, V. dioica in the more narrow sense does not occur in North America.
