Rank ReasonsCamissonia hirtella is broadly distributed throughout California and its range continues down into northern and central Baja California. There are numerous, recent collections of it from California in California herbaria. It also has a broad elevation tolerance and occurs on open shrubby slopes which are in abundance throughout California.
Range Extent CommentsIn California, Camissonia hirtella occurs in the bioregions: Northwestern California, Sierra Nevada, Central Western California, and Southwestern California; also occurs in northern and central Baja California (Hickman 1993).
Occurrences CommentsNumber of distinct occurrences is unknown, however, there are 612 accession records in the Consortium of California Herbaria as of March 2007; many of these (over half) have been collected since 1980.
