Treated as Neogaerrhinum strictum by Kartesz (1994 checklist and 1999 floristic synthesis); Antirrhinum kelloggii (of Hickman, 1993) included in synonymy. Native to California, but not endemic there, according to FNA (2019, vol. 17).
