Taxonomic Comments
This record represents the concept of Malacothamnus jonesii in the broad sense including both M. gracilis and M. niveus, following Baldwin et al. (2012), Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2015), and Morse (2023). In contrast, Kartesz (1994, 1999) included only M. gracilis in M. jonesii and placed M. niveus in M. fremontii.
