Taxonomic Comments
Alexander et al. (2015) find Boechera fendleri to be narrower than the treatment in FNA (2010, vol. 7), supporting the recognition of B. spatifolia, B. texana and B. porphyrea as treated in FNA, but additionally describing B. carrizozoensis, B. centrifendleri, B. sanluisensis, and B. zephyra as distinct. Treated as such, B. fendleri occurs throughout the western two-thirds of New Mexico and peripherally in adjacent Colorado.
