Taxonomic Comments
Cirsium tukuhnikivatzicum is described as a new species by Ackerfield (2023). Ackerfield (2022, 2023) found that C. eatonii var. eriocephalum consists of three distinct species: C. scopulorum, C. funkiae, and C. tukuhnikivatzicum. "C. tukuhnikivatzicum is endemic to the La Sal Mountains of Utah and well separated from the distributions of C. funkiae and C. scopulorum" (Ackerfield 2023).
