Taxonomic Comments
Chambers and Meyers (2011) present evidence and conclude that two of the subspecies - L. floccosa ssp. grandiflora and L. floccosa ssp. pumila - should be treated as subspecies of a separate species, L. pumila. FNA (2010) and Kartesz (1994, 1999) recognized 5 subspecies in Limnanthes floccosa. This record is for the narrow treatment of L. floccosa, that excludes Limnanthes pumila and L. pumila ssp. grandiflora and L. pumila ssp. pumila.
