Rank Reasons
This species grows on restricted habitat (serpentine) in a limited range (six northern California counties). It is not considered threatened or endangered where it is found.
Range Extent Comments
Endemic to the northern California counties of Humboldt, Shasta, Siskiyou, Mendocino, Tehama and Trinity. It was thought that the distribution extended into Oregon but that was based on a misidentified herbarium specimen (Oregon Biodiversity Information Center 2007; CNPS 2017).
Occurrences Comments
There are 14 unprocessed sources in CNDDB (2014), and 98 Consortium of California Herbaria records (2014).
Threat Impact Comments
The usual potential threats within this species' range are mining and logging activities. Documented threats for specific poplations are not known.
