Taxonomic Comments
Arctostaphylos hookeri was split into three species, Arctostaphylos franciscana (syn. Arctostaphylos hookeri ssp. franciscana), Arctostaphylos montana including two subspecies (Arctostaphylos montana ssp. ravenii (syn. Arctostaphylos hookeri ssp. ravenii) and Arctostaphylos montana ssp. montana (syn. Arctostaphylos hookeri ssp. montana)), and A. hookeri including the subspecies Arctostaphylos hookeri ssp. hearstiorum and Arctostaphylos hookeri ssp. hookeri (FNA 2009, Jepson Flora Project 2020).
