Taxonomic Comments
According to Ertter (2007) Drymocallis cuneifolia was originally described from a fragmentary specimen which, when no more similar populations could be located, led to uncertainty about its distinctiveness from Potentilla glandulosa ssp. nevadensis. However, a population discovered near the original collection site in 2004 is comparable to the original type and these plants' similarity to what had been described as P. glandulosa ssp. ewanii led Ertter to the conclusion that they are varieties of the same species: Drymocallis cuneifolia (Drymocallis being resurrected as a genus distinct from Potentilla).
