Range Extent100-1000 square km (about 40-400 square miles)
Number of Occurrences1 - 20
Rank Reasons
Narrowly endemic to the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. The known range of this species is less than 40 km long. Though well represented by collections, most are over 30 years old and provide only sketchy location information. Field observations do not support the "locally abundant" status that the number of collections suggests. May be threatened by rock climbing.
Range Extent Comments
The Wasatch Range in Salt Lake, Utah, and Wasatch counties, Utah (Utah Native Plant Society 2003).
Occurrences Comments
20 EOs, 7 of which are unranked and 13 of which are considered historical (EO data in the NatureServe database as of July 2012). Field survey of EOs not visited in 20 years is needed.
Threat Impact Comments
Plants occur in remote areas; however, activities that could damage cliff habitat such as rock climbing are a threat (R. Fitts, pers. comm., 2012).
