Taxonomic Comments
FNA (2016, vol. 12) treats P. fimbriata in a strict sense, excluding P. fimbriata var. hoodiana and P. fimbriata var. intermedia (sensu Kartesz 1994 and 1999) as a single variety of P. cirrata (P. cirrata var. intermedia). Thus, P. fimbriata var. fimbriata as treated by Kartesz (1994, 1999) is equivalent in concept to FNA's P. fimbriata.
