Taxonomic Comments
This record is for Grindelia squarrosa as recognized by Strother and Wetter's treatment in FNA (2006, vol. 20) which excludes G. squarrosa var. quasiperennis (which they include in G. hirsutula) and includes G. nuda as indistinct. This concept of G. squarrosa includes G. squarrosa var. serrulata, G. squarrosa var. squarrosa, G. nuda var. aphanactis, and G. nuda var. nuda of Kartesz (1994, 1999). No infrataxa are distinguished in G. squarrosa by the FNA (2006) treatment.
