Taxonomic Comments
The name Trifolium agrarium has been recommended for nomenclatural rejection by the Committee on Spermatophyta (Taxon 48: 360, 1999), and the rejection approved by the General Committee (Taxon 48: 377, 1999); supposed type material of this name is referable to several species: Trifolium dubium, Medicago lupulina, Trifolium aureum, and T. campestre. Therefore, the name "Trifolium agrarium L." will not have nomenclatural priority over any of these names, or any others. LEM 1Jun99.
